How to use

FAQs, Policies & Contact

Usage - The Bindings are designed to be worn without socks on smooth indoor surfaces for maximum durability and effectiveness.

Supports - The Bindings are compatible with any custom orthotic or off the shelf foot support. Not included with purchase of Bindings.

Shipping - FREE delivery shipping is included with the purchase of our Bindings.

Packaging - We have optimized our packaging to minimize virgin materials and waste. Local orders will be delivered in our custom Binding boxes, while mailed orders will be sent with our custom tags in recycled mailers.

Returns - We will provide exchanges or refunds for un-worn Bindings within 30 days. Return shipping is excluded.

Washing - Bindings should be machine washed cold with similar fabrics and colors and hung dry. Remove your supports prior to washing.

Liability - BareWear Bindings are not a medical product and BareWear is not liable for any incidents, injuries or damage that may occur during use.

About Us

Gillian Pinder, the Founder & Lead Developer of BareWear, formed the concept of the Bindings with two of her mechanical engineering classmates, Manoj Balakrishnan and Julie Hunchak, at the University of Saskatchewan. Following graduation and moving to a farmhouse on the prairies, Gillian continued progressing BareWear and created the first functional prototypes - some with fabric and thread, others with tape and liquid rubber. While seemingly far removed from the Sports Engineering industry, this experience, fueled by creativity and a love of footwear, formed the framework for her engineering career. Gillian now works as a mechanical engineer for an industry leading brand, splitting her time between Portland, Oregon and that same farmhouse.

After years spent pursuing the vision of what BareWear could become, collaboration with wonderful manufacturing partners, exceptional designers like Mike Friton, and talented friends including Carmen Marianovits and Trudy Piche, this vision is becoming reality.
